What Makes Me Happy
This painting marks a transition. I was in a place where I was just not happy. I then thought, "ok let's start with what I want. What DO I want?" And I really had no idea. Given that, I thought ok if I don't know what I want, I'll start with what makes me happy. I painted this as part of that process. Like that rectangle in the upper right with circles around it? It's a table with people, and represents a dinner party. I do love throwing dinner parties. There's also lots of musical notes - music can totally shift my mood and indeed make me happy. The blue mass is the ocean. LOVE the ocean and am perpetually happier around it. Do you know I've lived on three islands? Anyway, I painted this and had a starting point for what I wanted. I then wrote everything I wanted on the back of the painting. It was very effective with stepping into a whole new place in my life and I highly recommend this technique to anyone in search of happiness and knowing what they want.
